i am now confused about the points and requirement and stuff....
how do i join a tournament and where do i register?

If you are referring to the Hero Battles Tournaments, you will need to speak to Tolkano http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Tolkano

The Hero Battles themselves are explained here http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Hero_Battles

Both links are from the old guildwiki.org site as the new Official Guild Wars Wiki has very little information as of today.
